Double benefit for Japanese contingent at Mipel
The Japanese leathergoods and footwear brands that attended last week’s Micam and Mipel trade shows in Milan used the opportunity to source European leathergoods to take back to Japan.

The Japan Leather and Leathergoods Industries Associations (JLIA) hosted the Mipel pavilion for the sixth time.

“As Milan is a global centre of fashion, it is a good opportunity for us to meet Middle Eastern, American and Russian buyers,” said Hiroyuki Matsuzuki of the JLIA.

Japanese companies included glove maker Kuroda and bag makers Beaugrand and Kiami by the Negishi Group. While the products are made in Japan, the brands use Spanish and Italian leathers alongside locally sourced material.
