Brazil: imports of footwear rise 17%
Imports of footwear into Brazil rose 17% in the first eight months of this year, compared with the same period last year.
The majority of these shoes came from Vietnam – 53% in terms of value ($180 million dollars worth), equating to 9.5 million pairs.
Figures from Abicalçados, the Brazilian footwear association, show Indonesia sent 4.3 million worth $75.6 million, and China sent $42 million worth from January to August.
The data refers to assembled footwear.
