A delegation of Italian leather sector specialists from le Marche region visited the African Leather and Leather Products Institute (ALLPI) in Ethiopia to explore opportunities for collaboration.

The visit formed part of CVM’s Ethiopia–Marche Region cooperation programme and provided an opportunity for partners to introduce their programmes and share priorities. 

Under discussion was the provision of leather machinery and equipment from Italy, assistance in sourcing spare parts, and facilitating access to finance for leather SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises).

ALLPI said it “looks forward to continued engagement” to help improve the competitiveness of Ethiopia’s leather sector.
