Mudungwe promotes leather sector on COMESA stage
The director of the Africa Leather and Leather Products Institute (ALLPI), Nicholas Mudungwe, has presented its work at the third COMESA Institutions Awareness Forum, held in Tunisia.
The forum’s aim was to discuss how digital innovation could be used as a catalyst for market access across the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa.
ALLPI raised awareness of the leather sector’s contribution to industrialisation, employment creation, SME development and intra-African trade. It also reinforced the institute’s commitment to supporting COMESA member states in upgrading leather value chains, improving market access, and promoting regional and continental trade opportunities, it said.
