Bio finishes abound as tanners prepare for PV in Paris
More than 200 leather suppliers from around the world are heading to Paris to show their collections for summer 2025 at Premiere Vision (July 2 to 4).
This time, there will be more than 2,600 leathers on display, with a 3D exhibition also available online (pictured).
Natural tanning agents and finishes will include olives, grape pulp, tea, barley and wheat, as well as spent grains from beer brewing.
Production offcuts have transformed into new resources to develop recycled leather panels with natural binding agents or innovative yarns with leather particles, a new ingredient for knitted sneaker uppers, said organisers.
They added: “For the leathers of summer 25, it’s all about flawless functionality. Smooth, patent skins with couture perfection flirt with the tech universe, while leathers and textiles for sneakers are spellbound by sustainable compositions and finishes inspired by natural textures and weaves.”
Grupo Mastrotto, Dani, Colomer 1792, Remy Cariat and Opera are among exhibitors.
