COTANCE raise concerns over EUDR implementation timeline
23/05/2024
The letter outlined several critical areas for improvement in the EUDR Information System, including the handling of large data volumes, API integration, and file size limitations. The organisations warned that these issues might render the system unprepared to meet the needs of affected supply chains.
In their communication, the signatories stressed the necessity of conducting a timely and functional stress-test to prevent potential supply chain disruptions and safeguard the competitiveness of European businesses. They emphasised the importance of ensuring that the system is robust and capable of managing the anticipated data load without causing delays or compliance issues for businesses.
COTANCE and the other organisations expressed their readiness to collaborate closely with the Commission to address these concerns and refine the EUDR Information System, ensuring it meets the operational needs of European industries while upholding the regulation's environmental objectives.
