Burberry shows new colours but warns of slowing demand
British luxury brand Burberry has warned that a slowing demand for luxury is affecting its sales.

CEO Jonathan Akeroyd said it is in the early stages of a transition to a “new modern British luxury creative expression”.

He added: “We experienced a further deceleration in our key December trading period and we now expect our full year results to be below our previous guidance.

“We remain confident in our strategy to realise Burberry’s potential and we are committed to achieving our £4 billion revenue ambition.”

Burberry has embarked on a month long “knight blue takeover” of London department store Harrods (pictured).

The store’s green awnings have been replaced  by tent canopies in a Burberry check, while windows are decorated with camping components such as guy ropes, draped waterproof fabrics and carabiners.

Exclusive products include a Knight bag crafted from nappa leather, new iterations of the Chess and Rocking Horse bags, the Box sneaker in a new colourway and exclusive eyewear styles.

At night, Harrods’ exterior will be illuminated in “knight blue", a new signature colour of the house introduced by chief creative officer Daniel Lee.
