JBS assistance program is helping 8,000 farms
JBS Couros, the leather division of Brazil-based meat group JBS has announced its "Green Offices" program has achieved 8,000 socio-environmental regularisations of farms in Brazil, 47% of which are small properties.
The program offers free technical assistance to cattle suppliers to achieve socio-environmental compliance in the supply chain. JBS has set a goal of reaching 12,000 regularisations by 2024.
JBS has inaugurated 19 Green Offices, which offer tools for producers to have access to regenerative production practices and techniques. The company has over 78,000 suppliers registered on its supplier system.
By the end of 2025, 100% of the active suppliers will have added their supply chain data to the Transparent Livestock Farming Platform. For JBS Couros, this achievement is important because it assures that their leather traceability is effective.
