European car market continues to claw back
In November 2023, the EU’s car market grew by 6.7%, according to ACEA, the car manufacturers’ association.
Despite a relatively low base of comparison - with registrations around 20% down on 2019 - it was the 16th consecutive month of expansion.
Italy recorded a 16.2% rise in new car registrations, and in France they increased 14%.
However, the German car market retracted, recording a 5.7% decline compared with November 2022.
In the first 11 months of 2023, new car registrations in the EU increased by 15.7% compared with the same period in 2022, reaching nearly 10 million units.
