Better news for European cars

20/07/2023
In the first half of 2023, new European car registrations increased 18% compared with the same period last year, reaching 5.4 million units, according to the European car manufacturers’ association (ACEA).

Most of the region’s markets grew significantly, including Spain (+24%), Italy (+23%), France (+15%) and Germany (+13%).

ACEA commented: “The recent months’ improvements indicate that the European automotive industry is recovering from supply disruptions caused by the pandemic.”

However, it pointed out that the volumes are still 21% lower than 2019.
