Stahl's latest products include plant-based topcoat

Stahl’s leather and performance coatings experts will be on hand at the Simac Tanning Tech show in Milan to present the chemical company’s latest developments.

NuVera, its new water-based topcoat solution, is derived from plant-based biomass (typically vegetable oils or sugars). These products can also be made from a third renewable raw material category which is “captured carbon”, where CO2 released from industrial processes is captured and used as a feedstock for producing polymeric building blocks.

Aqualen Top NG’s formulation was created with its new generation of polymer technology and selected auxiliaries, giving products a superior natural-leather look and feel along with high fastness and high durability, it said.

Tanicor LB series is a solution to  meet bisphenol regulations, and Stay Silent is an automotive anti-squeak coating that took five years to develop.

The Stahl team in Milan will include Joachim Henkmann, global marketing director for leather; Gemma Monleon, marketing director for leather; Alexander Schieke, global marketing director for  performance coatings; and Eric Timmermans, global marketing director for synthetics in the performance coatings division.

Simac Tanning Tech will take place alongside leather show Lineapelle between September 19 and 21.
