Pharrell presents leather showstoppers in debut Vuitton collection

Luxury brand Louis Vuitton described Pharrell Williams’ debut show as creative director as a “stunning launch”, with leather making a statement on the spring/summer 2024 catwalks in Paris.

The singer and music producer took up the role in February – following the death of Virgil Abloh in 2021 - reportedly moving his family from the US to Paris to concentrate on the collection.

On display were variations on the emblematic checkerboard motif as well as camouflage, prints and jacquards on coats, jackets, shirts and laser-cut bags.

Friend and singer Jay-Z attended the show, wearing a customised oversized leather coat.

An accompanying ad campaign starred a pregnant Rihanna in a leather dress, carrying green, yellow and red Speedy lambskin bags.
