Festive Delvaux bags feature new effects

Richemont-owned fine leathergoods brand Delvaux recently unveiled a new accessories collection for the festive season, named Winter Glow.

The Brussels-headquartered house, established in 1829 and known as the world’s oldest luxury leathergoods company, revealed several innovative techniques as part of the range.

A new “arctic” palladium metal buckle, which provides a frosted-like effect, was noticeable on two versions of the calf leather Brilliant bag (in both mini and MM sizing), whereas a third Brilliant handbag in “optic white” (pictured) featured quilting designed to recall “snowy mountain pistes”, according to the brand. With this style, the typically metal hardware has unusually been rendered all white to better chime with the collection's winter theme.

Yet another version of the Brilliant handbag, the Mini Sweet Cloud, has been reinterpreted in shearling, complete with a natural calfskin strap and lining, plus palladium metal hardware.

Another standout design was the Pin Mini Bucket Stalactite bag, which Delvaux described as its “end-of-year masterpiece”. Crafted from box calf leather, with glass and crystal pearl and bead “droplets” - embroidered by hand in Paris by “one of the world’s greatest haute couture embroiderers” - the house spotlighted this creation as “an ice queen like no other”.
