Circular economy-focused tannery celebrates crowdfunding success
A small Italian tannery launched in 2018 has secured more than €500,000 from a crowdfunding site, which it will use to expand and invest in technology.

Be Green Tannery is based in Solofra, a sheep and goat leather tanning district, and has recently received Leather Working Group certification.

Founder Felice De Piano told local press: "We are very happy with the feedback from the financing initiative. This is only the beginning of a multi-year growth plan that provides for the spread of green ‘Made in Italy’ throughout the world.

“Within the next five years, we aim to make substantial progress in the eco-sustainable revolution of the entire production chain.”

Be Green Tannery says it has a strong focus on the circular economy, prioritising the reduction of water, waste and emissions.
