Ten companies can supply Zeology-tanned leather now
Nera, the company that leather chemicals group Smit & Zoon set up in October to bring new tanning solutions to market, has unveiled the names of ten major leather manufacturers around the world that are already using its Zeology system.
This new tanning system is based on the mineral zeolite and is chrome-free, heavy metal-free and aldehyde-free.
On announcing the names, Nera said it had worked closely with these tanning groups in its testing and development of Zeology and that all ten were now in a position to supply Zeology-tanned leather to their customers.
Three of the tanning groups are from Germany: Heller-Leder, Südleder and Gmelich & Söhne. There are also three from Italy: Pasubio, Gruppo Mastrotto and Gruppo Dani. Two, Bader and Wollsdorf Leather, are from Austria. The group of ten is completed by CPL from Thailand and SlovTan from Slovakia.
