Footwear and bags help Ferragamo weather storm

Italian leathergoods and footwear group Salvatore Ferragamo has posted 2019 revenues of €1.4 billion, 1.2% higher than the previous year at constant exchange rates.

Sales in China demonstrated strong growth overall, rising almost 14%, but they were significantly impacted in the fourth quarter by the geopolitical situation in Hong Kong, where retail sales were down 50%.

Sales of footwear rose 3% and leathergoods 2.8%; fragrance sales fell 7% during the year.
