Leather and jewelry combine in Fila collaboration

The Fila Targa x Miansai, designed with leather and touches of suede, has jewelry-tinged touches such as Miansai’s silver screw-cuff detailing on the shoe’s back counter. The Fila Disruptor x Miansai has a mix of suede and leather for “an elevated update to one of the brand’s most popular silhouettes”, with laces inspired by Miansai’s nautical rope bracelets.
Michael Saiger, founder and creative director of Miansai, said they were approached by Fila over a year ago regarding the sports label’s first jewelry collaboration. “We started the design process by going through their archives where we found inspiration from vintage styles and materials,” he said.
Louis W. Colon III, VP of heritage and trend for Fila North America, said this first jewelry collaboration is part of the company’s wider aim of innovating with “new and distinctive partnerships".
“Miansai has carved out a unique niche, with designs that double as works of art and serve as the perfect complement to our footwear,” said Mr Colon.
