Animation shows how leather prevents pollution problem
Brazilian Leather has released a short animated video illustrating why leather offers a solution to the waste created by a growing demand for beef.  

“Leather is a solution”, which can be viewed here, says the world’s beef consumption is predicted to be 76 million tonnes by 2026 and that Brazilian beef production will have to grow 20.5% by 2027 to meet that need. 

The video explains how the approximately 40% of a cow that doesn’t get eaten could go to waste if it weren’t for “one of agribusiness's most important production chains: the leather industry.”  

Brazilian Leather is a partnership between the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil). The group has produced other videos this year, including "Design & Leather" and "Leather Versatility".
