New Aston Martin has hand-stitched Scottish leather interior

Writer Brandon Friederich took readers on a ride inside the luxury British sports car, sharing his account of a test drive for a recent Maxim magazine feature. Sitting alongside Mr Friederich was Aston Martin Performance Driver and brand specialist Jason Wilkie, who described the leather’s design and provenance.
"[The interior's leather] is hand-stitched because you want that perfect symmetry between seams. At the end of every seamstress' car, they’ll sign the inside of the driver’s leather,” Mr Wilkie explained to Mr Friederich in the article. “If they think it’s the best one they’ve ever done, they’ll sign it twice.”
The leather used comes from beef cows in Bridge of Weir, Scotland. “All of those cows are raised at 5,500 feet elevation,” Mr Wilkie was quoted saying. “The benefit of that is there’s no humidity or bugs, so you get more yield out of the hide, and the hide is of highest quality."
