Special Aston Martins use Bridge of Weir leather

Renowned automotive designer Ian Callum has launched a new engineering and design consultancy under his own name and has worked with Bridge of Weir Leather on an initial project, the Aston Martin Vanquish 25 by Callum.

The designer worked on the original Vanquish model for Aston Martin and has revisited the design for the new project, which consists of creating 25 “reborn” vehicles, with the full endorsement of Aston Martin.

Vanquish 25s retain the silhouette of the original, but feature more than 100 design and performance changes. Bridge of Weir Leather supplied leather to the original Vanquish in 2001 and Callum wanted to retain as many of the same natural features as possible in the interior of the vehicles in the new collection.

Over the last 12 months, Bridge of Weir Leather has worked with Callum to create “a completely bespoke approach” with a non-chrome, semi-aniline leather.

Commenting on the project, Mr Callum said: “Bridge of Weir Leather has provided exquisite leather for many of my designs throughout the years, including the original Vanquish. It’s therefore particularly special to collaborate and feature its beautiful materials and quality craftsmanship in the Aston Martin Vanquish 25.”
