Louis Vuitton has opened its 16th leather workshop, a 646,000 square foot facility located near the city of Angers, France. The company anticipates adding up to 1500 manufacturing jobs in France over the next three years. 

This opening follows several years of factories opening in Spain, Italy, and the US — but the luxury brand is vocal about Louis Vuitton's commitment to its home country. 

“If we let the craftsmanship leave, even to places as close as Italy,” said CEO Michael Burke, “I think it’s inevitable that the creativity in the sector will follow.”
