India’s Council for Leather Export (CLE) is planning a number of international missions in the coming months with the aim of increasing exports of leather, leathergoods and footwear.

CLE has estimated that the Indian leather sector has the potential to achieve 10% annual growth in exports by enhancing its market share outside the markets it exports to traditionally, Europe and the US.

Missions will be to Ethiopia, Kenya and Uganda in July, to Guatemala in August,
Russia in September, Chile and Peru in October and Australia in November. This is in addition to trips to Italy, Germany and the US.
