New Bottega Veneta leathergoods facility to open in 2020

Kering-owned luxury leathergoods brand Bottega Veneta has said it will expand the manufacturing operations that it has in Italy’s northern Veneto region.

Known as Manifattura Veneta Pelletterie, the operation was set up in May 2011 as a joint venture. It is now fully owned by the brand.

At present, there are two manufacturing complexes, which are believed to account for the production of more than 50% of Bottega Veneta’s leathergoods, including bags, shoes, belts and small accessories.

It now plans to add a third in Povolaro di Dueville, near Vicenza. It expects to employ around 200 people there by the end of 2020. As well as production, it will be home to the brand’s in-house training programmes.
