New leather training centre opens in French town

09/04/2019
‘Les ateliers de la Lizaine’, a new leather training centre in the French town of Montbéliard, has been officially inaugurated. It will welcome a total of around 70 students each year.

A number of courses will be offered, including one for training related to careers in fashion footwear and leathergoods. Another will offer students a qualification in cutting and leathergoods manufacturing. These two courses will be delivered with the support of local training school, the Lycée des Huisselets.

The training centre is located across two floors of the former job centre in Montbéliard, which is situated in France’s Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region.

Montbéliard is already home to l’école Boudard, a training institute offering courses on leather and leathergoods manufacturing, and to workshops owned by luxury leathergoods brand Hermès.
