MLA managing director sees ‘big gains’ in working together

The new managing director of Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA), Jason Strong, said on taking up his new role at the start of April that he is sure the sector can increase its success if the companies involved along the supply chain work together effectively.

Mr Strong, who previously served as MLA’s regional manager for Europe, said he could understand companies’ reluctance to share because of “the commercial challenges in doing that”, but he emphasised that there are “big gains to be made”.

He added that encouraging companies in the sector to work together was the best way to stop value from leaking out of the meat and livestock industry.
