China prepares to host AICLST conference

Shaanxi University of Science & Technology is the main organiser, with the International Union of Leather Technologists and Chemists Societies (IULTCS), the Japanese Association of Leather Technology, India’s Central Leather Research Institute (CLRI) and the Taiwanese International Leather Association among the co-organisers.
Two members of Tannery of the Year judging panels will play prominent roles. Professor Bi Shi of the University of Sichuan is chair both of the technical committee and the organising committee for the event, while Ivan Kral, project manager at the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation, will deliver the first keynote speech on day one. World Leather contributor and former technical editor, Richard Daniels, is also one of the speakers.
Among the main topics the AICLST conference will aim to address are cleaner technologies for leather manufacture and the use of leather waste in composite materials.
