The African Development Bank (AfDB) has put aside $20 million to finance the development of Zimbabwe’s agricultural value chain, according to reports in local media.

Quoting Eric Mariga, an AfDB senior policy analyst, the reports said beef is one of the areas that has been identified as critical to the country’s agricultural transformation.

The development project would be implemented in five districts – Gweru, Marondera, Beitbridge, Chimanimani and Bulawayo – and will benefit 2,900 people directly and a further 20,000 indirectly.
