Breakthrough for Atlantic Leather

28/09/2018
Icelandic fish leather manufacturer Atlantic Leather announced a breakthrough at Lineapelle at the end of September.

It has been successful in using mimosa to produce vegetable-tanned leather from salmon skins. Until now, all of Atlantic Leather’s fishskin output was chrome-tanned.

The company said it can now produce vegetable-tanned salmon skin in ten colours and with a variety of finishes.

In 2016, Icelandic Leather won the Tannery of the Year Award for Europe.
