Scottish Leather Group’s Bridge of Weir Leather Company has been officially presented with its fifth Queen’s Award for international trade, following an announcement earlier in the year. Bridge of Weir was one of several leather-sector companies in the UK to win the award, which recognises export performance.

In September, Bridge of Weir Leather held a celebration at the company’s headquarters in Renfrewshire for hundreds of guests from all over the world. The leather manufacturer, which specialises in supplying finished leather to prominent automotive companies, has now won the Queen’s Award five times, for international trade in 2018 and 2012, and for enterprise in 2000, 1996 and 1985.

At the celebration event, managing director, Karen Marshall (pictured), said: “This award is dedicated to the hard work of each and every one of our employees, some of whom have been with the company for all five of our Queen’s Awards, dating back to the 1980s. We never forget that our customers and long-term partners in the automotive world have a choice, and we always strive to make our product and its delivery better today than it was yesterday.”
