New owner of BLC Leather Technology Centre, Eurofins Group, has said it has no intention of changing any aspect of the UK-based leather and chemical testing, consulting and auditing groups people or operations.

“BLC will continue to operate as an autonomous unit with the existing management team [in place],” Eurofins told leatherbiz. “BLC is a well-respected, specialist leather testing and consulting business that provides a unique service to the leather industry.”

It went on to say that it had made the executive committee of multi-stakeholder body the Leather Working Group (LWG) aware of its acquisition of BLC “at the earliest opportunity”, and added that it has given reassurance to the committee that “the skilled staff that currently participate in the management of the LWG will continue”. It said the running of the LWG will remain unchanged.
