Burberry enters new e-commerce agreement with Farfetch
15/02/2018
Launched by Portuguese entrepreneur José Neves in 2008, Farfetch is an online platform for luxury brands. It connects customers in 190 countries with bags, shoes, accessories and clothes from more than 700 boutiques and brands. It offers express delivery worldwide and even same-day delivery to customers in London, New York, Paris, Los Angeles, Miami, Madrid, Milan, Barcelona and Rome.
Burberry’s senior vice-president for digital commerce, Daniel Heaf, said the brand’s decision to begin working with Farfetch is “a significant evolution”, but also a natural one because of the importance it puts on digital.
For his part, Farfetch’s chief commercial officer, Giorgio Belloli, said: “We’re so pleased to welcome Burberry to Farfetch as a direct brand partner. Our customers around the world love the brand, and working together means we can make sure lovers of fashion can have access to the greatest selection of Burberry products wherever they are in the world.”
The partnership will launch in parallel with Burberry’s show at London Fashion Week on February 17. For 24 hours after the show, Farfetch’s London-based customers will be able to order Burberry products for round-the-clock delivery and three tote bags inspired by the February 2018 collection will be available only to Farfetch customers.
