Mulberry committed to manufacturing in the UK

In an interview with Reuters, Mulberry CEO Thierry Andretta said raw material costs, such as for leather from tanneries in Italy, were now higher due to the pound being weaker against other currencies.
“Every supplier we have is related to the euro or the US dollar,” Mr Andretta explained. “This is something that is always a challenge for us because we are still committed to having two-thirds of our collection at (up to) £995, but it is becoming challenging.”
Mulberry produces around 55% of its leathergoods at two manufacturing plants in the west of England.
“We want to continue this, and I hope one day when we grow perhaps we will even consider opening another factory,” Mr Andretta added.
