UNIDO innovation award for Kings International

The Kings International tannery in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, has won an innovation award in a programme instituted by the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), India’s Council for Leather Exports and the Kanpur Unnao Leather Clusters. Kings International was the Tannery of the Year for Asia excluding China in 2016.

UNIDO and its partners set up the innovation award programme to promote cleaner tanning technologies, best practice in occupational health and safety, better waste management practices, energy conservation,  reduction in carbon emissions and so on.

On receiving the award, Kings International managing director, Taj Alam, said it would encourage the company “to keep excelling”.
