US suspends Brazilian beef imports

27/06/2017
The US has halted Brazilian beef imports because of “recurring concerns about the safety of the products intended for the American market”.

Since March, USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service has refused entry to 11% (106 lots) of Brazilian beef products, compared with 1% from the rest of the world.

The Brazilian government has pledged to address those concerns, including by suspending five facilities from shipping beef to the US.
