Pakistan exports more finished leather, but revenues fall

This figure represents a decline of 7.9% compared to the same months in the previous financial year.
Pakistan’s tanners exported a higher volume of finished leather, 19 million square-metres, than a year earlier. The increase was of more than 20%. However, in terms of value, there was a decline. In the first 11 months of this financial year, finished leather exports brought in $315 million, 5.8% less than in the corresponding months a year earlier.
Leathergoods exports brought in $443.6 million, a decline of 8.3% year on year.
For footwear, the figures are exports of 8.9 million pairs in the 11-month period and revenues of $86.9 million. These figures represent a fall of 18.5% in volume and of 12.9% in value.
