19/01/2017
The thirty-second edition of the India International Leather Fair  (IILF) takes place in Chennai from February 1-3. The India Trade Promotion Organisation and the country’s Council for Leather Exports have said one of the main themes at the 2017 event will be enabling and promoting “a greener leather sector”.

Government initiatives such as ‘Make in  India’, ‘Digital India’, ‘Skill India’ and ‘Start-up  India’ will also play a prominent role at the Chennai exhibition.

More than 450 exhibitors will take part, with 160 of them coming from outside India, with national pavilions representing France, Germany, China, Italy and Brazil. In 2016, the event attracted 12,556 visitors and the organisers expect a large turnout this year too.
