Pleasant surprise for Brazilian leather firms in New York

Levels of interest and business generated at Première Vision New York in July came as a pleasant surprise to the Brazilian leather producers who took part. Tanning industry body CICB has said the event “exceeded all expectations”.

This was only the second time Première Vision New York has been open to leather suppliers, but the five Brazilian tanners who attended said they were impressed by how many visitors they received and by the level of authority these potential buyers had.

Cássia Giseli Harth, research and development manager at Couros Bom Retiro, said after the exhibition: “We were taken by surprise by the number and quality of visitors. We made great contacts.”

More than 4,000 people attended.

Other Brazilian leather producers taking part were Cortume Krumenauer, Fazer Leather Company, Nova Kaeru and Soubach Beneficiamento em Couros.
