Gucci targeting €6 billion revenue

Luxury brand Gucci is setting the long-term target of €6 billion ($6.8 million) in annual sales and expects to grow more than twice as fast as the overall luxury market in the medium term.

That was the message from Chief Executive Marco Bizzarri at a presentation of the company’s future strategy to investors in London. The brand is on course to top $4.5 million in revenue for the first time this year and Mr Bizzarri wants the company to be even more ambitious.

"In March we saw very strong growth in products sold at their full price, including handbags, and this trend has increased in April and May," he said.

He added that Gucci would be targeting millennials as a new client base and aiming to triple online sales, which currently represent 3% of total revenue. He also emphasised that the brand has already increased the range of products it sells with entry-level leathergoods, jewellery and scarves.
