Spain’s footwear on track for record exports

Total exports of Spanish shoes from January to November 2015 reached a record 142 million pairs, worth €2.7 billion, an increase of 11%, according to the Federation of Spanish Footwear Industries, FICE.

Around 11 million pairs, worth €257.8 million, were exported to Germany. This was an increase of 10% in volume and 18% in value over the prior year period.

Spanish shoe companies make up around 8% of shoe brands currently in Düsseldorf for the GDS shoe fair (10 to 12 February).

The 54 Spanish firms are presenting autumn-winter 2016/17 collections to an estimated 15,000 visitors.
