El Corte Inglés signs up for nine million new ‘made in Spain’ labels

A multi-sector fashion federation called ModaEspaña has set up the new campaign with the dual aim of promoting “Spain, the brand” to consumers in the domestic market, inviting them to support Spanish producers to keep jobs and profits in the country, and to make it easier for consumers to identify goods produced in Spain.
El Corte Inglés, one of the biggest retail groups in the country, has pledged support to such an extent that it has laid claim already to almost all of the initial nine million ‘made in Spain’ labels that ModaEspaña has produced for the campaign. It will have the labels on Spanish-made products, including shoes, bags and other accessories, by early December, in time for the Christmas shopping season.
