Export growth in volume and value for Spanish shoes in H1

Spain’s main footwear industry association, FICE, has said the country exported 83.8 million pairs of shoes in the first half of 2015, bringing in export revenues of just under €1.5 billion.

Compared to the same period in 2014, these figures represent growth of 6.6% in volume and of 17.6% in value.

Women’s shoes with leather uppers constitute the most successful export category for Spanish footwear brands at the moment, increasing by 23% year on year for the six-month period in terms of value to bring in €650 million between January and June 2015.

Women’s leather shoes achieved an average price per pair in export markets of €35.08 over the period, compared to an average price per pair of men’s leather shoes of €28.74.
