Environment is “not just talk” at Louis Vuitton, director says
The logistics and supply chain director of Louis Vuitton, Vincent Barale, has said good environmental management is much more than just a topic of conversation at the luxury leathergoods brand.

Parent group LVMH organised its own ‘Climate and Logistics’ event at the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris in early December, asking representatives of some of its most prominent brands to speak about the work they have done to make their supply chains more environmentally friendly.

Mr Barale said: “It’s something we think about every single day and something we try to address in the deepest way possible.”

In 2013 Louis Vuitton became the first company in France to receive ISO14001 certification for a portion of its supply chain, the part that covers delivery of finished leathergoods from workshops to stores, which it says demonstrates the extent to which environmental performance is at the heart of the company’s activity.
