US: Cattle rustling on rise – reports

22/10/2015
Reports from the US suggest cattle rustling is on the rise in areas where drug addiction is growing.

Jerry Flowers, Oklahoma City’s top ‘cattle cop’, told Reuters about 75% of cattle thieves are doing so to make money to feed heroin and methamphetamine habits.

Last year in Texas, more than 3,900 cattle were reported stolen, and the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association investigates 850 to 1,200 agricultural crimes a year.
