Leathergoods company makes wine presentation special

French artisan leathergoods company O’Nolan, the brainchild of daughter-and-father team Amalvi and Robert Pimenta, recently completed a project to give a special collection of wines a unique presentation.

Commissioned by the Terres de l’Amandyère vineyard near Carcassone in the south of France, O’Nolan designed and produced a special presentation case using goatskin from the Alran tannery in Mazamet and hand-painted wood from local artisan partners. Finishing included hand-stitching using around 12 metres of silk thread.

In all, the limited-edition series comprises eight cases, with each requiring 600 hours of work by the various artisans involved.

According to O’Nolan, winemaker, Stéphane Serre, is delighted with the result. He said he was happy to be able to talk to his clients for this project, high-net-worth consumers in China, about the work of a whole group of “Made in France artists who produce unusual, unique pieces every day”.
