Zschimmer and Schwarz leads successful one-week programme in Northampton

German leather chemicals manufacturer Zschimmer and Schwarz set up a week’s training programme in March for students at the University of Northampton’s Institute for Creative Leather Technologies (ICLT).

Applications manager, Aykut Direk, and senior leather technologist, Bodo Brandt, gave the students a hands-on introduction to Zschimmer and Schwarz’s range of wet-end products and, in addition, gave presentations on automotive leathers and waterproofing systems.

The Zschimmer and Schwarz representatives said afterwards that it was rewarding “to see and feel how actively the students participated” in the programme. They said final evaluations and results mostly exceeded expectations and, as a result of this “excellent feedback”, the company has agreed to run a similar programme for ICLT students in 2016.
