New deal with China could double Australia’s live cattle exports

Media in Australia have said the government in Canberra is close to a agreeing a deal with its counterpart in Beijing to shop live cattle to China in a deal that could be worth as much as $1 billion a year.

Australia’s agriculture minister, Barnaby Joyce, said the volume of cattle involved could be as many as one million head per year, which would double Australia’s current live cattle exports.
