All Volkswagen car brands show growth, with one luxury exception
Figures for the group’s performance in the first half of 2014 show increases in sales for all of the Volkswagen car brands, with one exception among its higher-end brands.

There was year-on-year growth of 3.8% for Volkswagen passenger cars, taking the six-month total to just over 3 million. The corresponding figures for Audi and Skoda were 869,355 and 522,499, growth of 11.4% and 12.5% respectively.

Seat achieved growth of 9.9% with sales of just over 200,000 cars between January and June 2014.

In the group’s luxury segment, Bentley registered growth of 22.8% with sales of 5,254 cars, while Porsche sold 87,803, up by 7.6% on the corresponding period last year. Bugatti sold just 19 cars, but this, too, represents growth compared to the first half of last year when only 16 were sold.

The exception was Lamborghini. Its sales of 956 vehicles in the first half of this year signify a decline of 18%.
