Leather and footwear exports from Vietnam in the first four months of this year totalled $2.85 billion - a 22% increase over the same period last year.

Many leather and footwear exporters are in excellence shape with contracts until at least August, according to the country’s Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The footwear industry is targeting $12 billion in exports this year. In 2013, it exported $8.3 billion – 15% more than in 2012, according to the General Statistics Office.
