Indonesia increase keeps New Zealand beef and veal exports flat
10/02/2014
Meat companies exported 68,000 tonnes of beef and veal over the three-month period, which is 0.5% down on the same period a year earlier.
There was a 13% declines in shipments to North America, but New Zealand exporters made up for that by quadrupling shipments to Indonesia over the quarter, compared to the same period in 2012, helped by a change in import regulations, with a quota system being phased out.
There were also increases in exports of beef and veal to China, Taiwan and Saudi Arabia.
