Bad weather kept customers away, says Danier Leather
Canadian leather apparel and accessories maker Danier Leather saw a 6% drop in sales it its second quarter, due to ice storms and related power outages in Eastern Canada which resulted in reduced customer traffic.

Sales during the quarter ending 28 December totalled $62 million compared with $66.1 million during the second quarter last year as fewer pieces of outerwear were sold.

However, Danier's higher-margin accessories business continued to grow with sales of handbags and certain other accessory categories up more than 20% compared with the corresponding period last year.
